Marriage is trusting each other. Marriage is compromise. Marriage is letting your wife paint furniture orange, “just because”, and telling her it looks great regardless of what you’re really thinking

Backyard Overhaul
It feels like this post has been a long time coming… we have lived in our home for about 3 years now, and we have finally dressed up the backyard! We spent the first few years deciding what we actually wanted back there (unfortunately we don’t have enough room for a pool!).
We decided that since Oklahoma has such a beautiful fall season, that an outdoor fireplace would be the perfect addition. We are hoping that with the fireplace we’ll be able to enjoy the patio later into the fall and earlier in the spring. We asked for a few quotes from local builders to construct an outdoor fireplace and a pergola, and we were honestly shocked at the prices they gave us! We decided that we could probably do the work our selves for 1/2 the cost. So, we have spent practically the entire summer working on this project! It started in April when Dwyatt formed up the concrete pad for the fireplace foundation, and was completed just last weekend!
While it is now “structurally complete” we still have the landscaping to finish and patio furniture to put in place. Basically decorating, my favorite part! Once that is all finished I plan to throw a big fall party for all our friends! I’ll definitely share some of the fully finished & decorated pictures when I get that done!
For now, here is our progress so far, captured in pictures, half of them from the iPhone

Today, I’m hungry…
For some reason I’m starving today… maybe it was working out early that caused this, I don’t know. Regardless, when I start pondering all the yummy things I could make for dinner, I always go to my favorite food blog: Gina’s Skinny Recipes. These are the best recipes, and they are all healthy versions!
My favorite thing about Gina’s recipes is that she makes them as skinny as possible, without compromising flavor. In fact, I print these off and cook them for Dwyatt & I and I usually don’t tell him until after he’s tried them that they’re “skinny versions”. He loves them
Here are some of our favorites:
But tonight I think I may try: Thai Chicken & Pineapple Stir-Fry
