Weekend in Hermann

This past weekend we spent with some great friends in the small town of Hermann, MO. We were there for a wedding but on Friday afternoon we spent our time exploring the town, partaking in the numerous wineries, and taking a lot of pictures! We had a blast! Here is a short sneak peek of Friday’s activities… more on the rest of our adventures and the Saturday wedding soon!

Weekend Getaway

We are spending this weekend with some great friends in the small picturesque town of Hermann Missouri. Tonight we are attending a wedding for our dear friends Tim & Megan. The rest of the weekend we are following the Hermann wine trail!!

It feels so good to relax, enjoy the moment, and breath the brisk fall air on this mini vacay :)

Dreaming of a Winter Wonderland

I get to go home for Christmas this year and I’m so excited!  I think it’s something about a Colorado Christmas, once you experience it there is nothing else like it!  I can’t wait to spend a week with my family and get to enjoy the most beautiful season of the year with the people I love :)

While we’re there we plan to go spend a few days in the mountains!  A few minutes ago my Mom & I just booked us a condo for 3 days in Breckenridge!  Yep, we’ll be here:

I can’t wait!  A condo with a balcony, hot tub, and walking distance to the slopes!  YES! It’s been way to long since I’ve been skiing!  I never thought I would say this, but I’m actually looking forward to seeing snow!  :)

So I have a confession…

A few days ago at the Nutcracker market I started buying some of my Christmas gifts for friends and family. This morning I was in a rush and desperately trying to put a cute outfit together.  Looking for the right scarf, I was getting frustrated thinking, “of all the scarves I have none of them work!”  Then it donned on me… yes, I do in fact have the perfect scarf… it’s just in my shopping bag and is supposed to be a present.  Hmm…  temptation…

Yep, you guessed it, I re-gifted the scarf to myself before I even had a chance to decide who I was going to give it to :)  Terrible I know… but really I just had to have it.  It’s cashmere, and Burberry check (fake, but I still count it), and it was made in Scotland!!

So, if I let Dwyatt wrap it up and give it to me for Christmas, does that make me slightly less guilty?  I hope so!

To all our Veterans

I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all of the men and women past, present, and future who have served our country and fought for our freedom.  It is a debt that we can never repay, and I am so grateful for all that you have done.

I come from a military family, most notably my grandfather who spent his career in the Army.  He fought for our freedom for most of his life, worked at the Pentagon, and at Norad.  Hearing his stories and the pride in his voice when he talks about his time in the service always makes me proud to be his granddaughter and proud to be an American.

To all of those soldiers fighting overseas today, I pray that you will return safely to your families and I hope you  know how much we appreciate you.

Happy Veterans Day!

Nutcracker Market!

Today I was hard at work attending a ladies only “NGL industry event”. I have family that attends this much talked about event every year and my cousin described at as a Christmas explosion!

It was absolute chaos. Women shopping in packs, drinking champagne, and purchasing massive amounts of Christmas garland. Luckily I was one of them and got a good head start on all my Christmas shopping!

So now I’m at the airport with a very large full suitcase. About to get on a plane, accompanied by a yummy Gingerbread latte :) . Happy start to the holiday season!

Oh Monday.

Don’t you sometimes wish you could live such a life of lazy luxury that you were entitled to just sleep on a pile of clean clothes and not move all day?

Yes… me too…

But alas, it’s Monday… the start of another busy week.  We are at work.  Oh, and Weston?  Weston is making sure the clothes don’t escape from the couch while we’re away…

Boomer Sooner!

Yesterday Dwyatt and I spent the day in Norman watching the Sooners beat Texas A&M!  Over a month ago I promised Dwyatt I would take him to a game for his birthday, and this is the game he chose!  Besides being quite windy and cold, it was great!  Such a fun fall experience, and something neither one of us are use to!  Going to such a small school for college we never had the “big football” experience, so we are catching up for lost time cheering for our new school, Go OU!!

Oh, and to all our family that attended Texas A&M… so sorry to rub it in… but we won!  ;)
